First of all, welcome. The site was built to tell people that we exist and to inform people to who we are and what we do.
Since you have found this site, i guess it is working.

Okay, so...

Who are we?
Wolverhampton Anime Club, or W.A.C, is basically a group of Anime / Manga fans that get together twice a week.
Run by the committee, we meet up to watch anime in a cinema-like environment and generally have fun.

The society is a great way to meet people. Everyone is really friendly. Students from all years of study come along.

Is W.A.C the society for me?
Well, nobody can ever answer this for sure. The only way to find out is to come along and see.
Not many people in the club take their hobby too seriousely. It's all for fun and entertainment. Though, if you have any questions people here are in the know and can probably answer them.

You don't have to know very much about Anime, Manga or Japan. If you like cartoons, computer games... or anything along those lines you will probably fit right in.

A Word from the Chairman:

Hey there fellow anime and manga fans!

Wow, New Year, new responsibility. I am thankfully surrounded by a great staff as well as some all round lovely people who I am lucky to consider friends who will be helping me along the way. Many of those reading this may be nervous about jumping into a group of friends that they think are already pretty close knit and therefore unwelcoming of 'outsiders'. Nothing could be further from the truth, and we would love it if people became as involved as possible from day 1.

Most meetings descend into all round silliness followed by a trip to the pub and takeaway. That is how we roll, by the looks of things. There are numerous inside jokes and catchphrases that you will pick up with time also. One thing to remember is that we all came together through a mutual love of anime, hence there is always a topic of conversation to introduce yourself with. While W.A.C may not be a dating service, it is very much a place where people can make new friends.

Throughout the year we will be doing silly little events, but trips to the bowling alley for DDR and perfectly honest and good-spirited games of bowling involving no cheating whatsoever are occurring nearly weekly. Cinema trips and impromptu drinking occur regularly too.
We have so many talented artists and writers in the club too that there is always someone with a common interest it seems

So please feel free to bother us; it is what we're here for! Alex and I are residential assistants, Grey seems to know everything, Becca loves her net comics, Vicki is a DDR machine and Matt and Hanna know Sci-Fi.

At any time, never feel like you need to 'graduate' to hang out with us. If you want to come to the cinema with us, give us your number and we'll invite you. If you want to come drinking with us then invite yourself! We spend the night talking cartoons and web junk.

Enjoy yourselves. And by the end of the year we may have made cosplayers out of you yet!
